SLLGC AND LONDON CAPTAINS MATCH REPORT
29TH AUGUST 2024

The annual game with the Society of London Captains took place on the 29th August at Malden Golf Club. It was a lovely sunny day, not too hot.
​
We played a team game with 20 players from each society forming 10 four balls. The format was the best lady’s score and the best man’s score from each team playing off 85% of handicap.
​
The final scores were all very close but the winners were Jaze Percival, Rhona Tridgell, John Naish and Kevin Tye with 92 points. The runners up were our Captain Alison Trinick, Gillian Stallard, the Captain of the London Captains Clive Morton and CK Lee with 91 points. The third place went to Anne Coventry, Suzie Gordon, Gordon Tinale and John Nugent with 86 points.

We were again catered for very nicely by the club with bacon rolls before our game and Chicken Curry for dinner.
We would again like to thank Malden Golf Club for hosting us. We would also like to thank the London Captains for joining us for this friendly annual game.

SLLGC and Surrey Captains Match report
9th May, 2024
​
The match between our society and Surrey Captains was held on the 9th May at Malden Golf Club.
​
We played a team game with 16 players from each society forming 8 fourballs. The format for the day was the best lady’s score and best man’s score from each team playing off 85% of handicap.
​
Although it was a very sunny and warm day the course played very long.
The winners on the day were Jae Percival, Yvonne McSherry, Roger Mountney and Steve Dobbin with a score of 73 points. In second place were the team of Pip Mumford Peake, Linda Anderson, Peter Felix and Peter Thwaite who scored 70 points.

We had bacon rolls before the game and Chicken Curry for dinner afterwards.
​
We would like to thank Malden Golf club and their staff for hosting us. We would also like to give special thanks to our President Tamsin for doing the cards, presenting the prizes and for the bubbly pre-dinner which went down a treat.

SLLGC and Society of Surrey Lady Golf Captains
6th June 2024
​
The match between our Society and the Surrey Lady Captains took place on the 6th June at our Captains’ Club, Malden, and for once the weather behaved itself. We formed 6 teams with two London Ladies and two Surrey Ladies playing 2 scores from 4 using 85% of handicap.
​
The winners on the day were Sally Fields and Jude Mackenzie from London and Chris Braidwood and Alex Jamison from Surrey with 80 points. The runners up were our Captain, Alison Trinick, and Anne Coventry from London and the Surrey Captain Judy Searle and Val Talbot with 78 points.
​
We had bacon rolls before the game and generous portions of lasagne and salad for dinner afterwards with some of the ladies leaving with takeaway boxes.
​
Again we would like to thank Malden Golf club and their staff for hosting us and special thanks to the Surrey Ladies for joining us for this very friendly and fun game.
