Society of London Lady Golf Captains

The Society was formed 66 years ago in 1957 as a partnership with the London Men’s Captains’. Membership is open to all Ladies’ Captains whose club of captaincy is located within a 35 mile radius of Charing Cross, irrespective of where they currently live or play golf.

In 2024, as in previous years, we will be holding our usual five meetings, all played in the counties around our catchment area and hopefully there will be a meeting close enough to every member.  We will be having three matches, one with the Surrey Captains, one with the Surrey Ladies’ Captains and one with the London Captains which will be played at Malden Golf Club.  All our events are great social occasions which allow the members to meet with friends they have made while playing golf with the Society.

In November each year we hold our AGM.  This year it was held at The Armourers' Hall in the City of London followed by afternoon tea. Our guest speaker was Mr Peter Bateman former clerk of the hall, who gave us a talk about the livery companies and their history and impact on modern Britain.

My chosen charity is the Polka Children's Theatre who are give disadvantaged children in our community free tickets to the theatre, providing a life changing experience for many of these children from boroughs around London.
